A substantial part of our legal practice is devoted to representing our clients’ interests in courts and the high reputation of our lawyers is based on their successful representation of clients in legal disputes in court.

The Law Office has assisted in a case brought before the Stockholm Regional Court involving one of the largest sums ever claimed by a Latvian company in a court of general jurisdiction. The case was adjudicated in accordance with Latvian material law and our office provided assistance to the defendant’s lawyers, commenting on and interpreting the contents of Latvian law. The Court rejected the claim for damages and the claimant did not appeal against this ruling.

Our lawyers have successfully represented leading mass media players in lawsuits regarding claims involving the publication of false information and the violating person’s honour and dignity.

We have extensive experience of representing our clients’ interests in relation to intellectual property rights including copyrights, trademarks, patents, databases, in court and within criminal procedures. The history of the office contains many historical firsts involving Latvian court practice such as, for instance, the first successful patent challenge, the first verdict guilty regarding a trade mark infringement and disposal of fake products at a customs warehouse etc.

As the representative of a large transit holding, we successfully defended our client’s interests both in a general jurisdiction court and in arbitration. Our legal procedure experts have successfully represented the interests of our clients before Administrative courts.
